105927: 8 Old South Tolsta

8 Old South Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1830. The first occupant was John Graham; very little is known about John.

In 1833 8 Old South Tolsta passed to Murdo Mackenzie and Margaret Macrae; the couple had already had eight children. Of those eight children at least four were still living when they moved to 8 Old South Tolsta; John, Christina, Donald and John. In 1834 the family left to become cottars in Old Back. In 1851 they obtained 46 Back.

8 Old South Tolsta passed to Murdo Maciver and Catherine Macdonald, the couple had their first six children: Mary, Catherine, Isabella, Margaret, Alexander and Evander at 8 Old South Tolsta. In 1851 the crofts were re-lotted and the family obtained 41 North Tolsta. They had their final child, Evander, the year of the re-lotting.
