Donald Macrae (1775-1859) Dòmhnall Alasdair from Steimreway was the first tenant of 3 Habost and he passed the croft to his son, Donald (1825-1907) Dòmhnall Dhòmhnaill Alasdair. Donald emigrated to Canada in 1873 and croft was passed to his sister, Christina's husband John Mackay (1840-1889) Iain Dhonnachaidh Thormoid from 2 Habost.
3 Habost was passed to his son, Angus Mackay (born 1863) Aonghas Iain Dhonnchaidh and he passed the croft to his eldest son, Donald John Mackay (1895-1968) Dòmhnall Iain Aonghais Iain.
Another well-known inhabitant of this croft was Ross Aonghas Bhàin, the sheepdog.
